In Not Quite Crazy (Not Quite #6) by Catherine Bybee, meeting Rachel Price could be considered fate. Then again, being run off the road in his car isn't what he thought it would take to meet his Ms. Right. However, when she discovers that Jason Fairchild is her boss, Rachel is determined to do everything she can to resist the intense chemistry between them. But with the pair working together, her determination to resist him becomes more and more impossible. Yet, when the possibility of losing someone important to her happens, will Rachel put her faith in Jason or will she walk away from her chance at happy ever after because she's never been good at asking for help?
This is an incredible series, of which Ms. Bybee has wrapped up perfectly with this book, even though I'm a little sad to say goodbye to such a wonderful array of characters. Yet, in saying that, let me get back to talking about this book that was highly entertaining and included a fantastic combination of witty banter between Rachel and Jason as well as between the main and secondary characters; and intense moments that had me enjoying this couple's back stories and the obstacles they face on their journey to happy ever after. Such as the moment where the heroine is put through the emotional wringer because she could lose someone important to her and whether the Fairchild family company will survive what happens.
Both the main characters are compelling and I loved the moment they met, as Jason is lucky Rachel is there since things could have turned out a lot worse for him. I also enjoyed every moment they interacted, as Jason is determined to win Rachel over and prove they can get past the fact that he's her boss. How long will it take Rachel to succumb to their intense chemistry? Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous, loyal and I liked how determined she was to honor the promise she made to her late best friend. I also liked how good she is at her job, which is proven by her marketing plans for the Fairchild's private jet company. While Jason, he's confident and I liked how determined he was to win the heroine over with everything he does for her, especially when it comes to what she faces towards the end of this story. I also liked the bond he shared with a teenage boy that needed a strong male figure in his life and the tight relationships he shares with his brothers since Trent and Glen aren't afraid to offer their advice or let their wives help Jason find the love and happiness they've both found.
Overall, Ms. Bybee has delivered a well-written and absolutely engaging read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was powerful and spilled over onto the pages in delightful and passionate sex scenes that did justice to this couple's intense chemistry; and the ending had me loving that everything worked out for the best for this pair when it comes to what Rachel faces and then how determined Jason is to prove that he wants Rachel in his life forever. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up perfectly because of the heroine's surprise and how happy these two are together. I would recommend Not Quite Crazy by Catherine Bybee, if you enjoy the boss-employee romances, the opposites attract trope, or books by authors Marina Adair, Kim Law, Jamie Beck and Erin Nicholas.
