Avery Coppola is a woman on the run—not from the law, but from the lawless. Her ex-husband, mafia boss Dante Coppola, never forgets or forgives, especially since Avery stole incriminating files from him. For now, she’s found sanctuary in the North Country of New Hampshire, working as a waitress to support herself and her ten-year-old sister. But not only are Dante’s men on her trail, so is the FBI . . .

Special Agent Vincent Modena is at the end of his rope. After a year-long attempt to infiltrate the Coppola organization, his only chance to ensnare the crime lord now lies with the ex-wife. After locating her, Vincent makes contact, unafraid to use his good looks to capture Avery’s attention. But she turns the tables on him with an intoxicating combination of innocent beauty . . . and the mind-blowing skills of a stone-cold killer.

On the run from Dante’s hit men, Avery takes Vincent on a wild ride of danger and deceit, hiding a secret that could destroy Vincent’s trust in her—and in himself . . .

In Caught by You (Secret Agents #1) by Kris Rafferty, when Avery Coppola learns that not only are her ex-husband's people after her but also the FBI, believing she has files that could take her ex-husband and mafia boss Dante Coppola down forever for his crimes, she's forced to go on the run again. Yet, there's one man that won't seem to allow her to keep running. Will she put her trust in Special Agent Vincent Mondena or will she lose the man she's coming to care for more than she ever thought possible?

What a wild and thrilling ride Ms. Rafferty takes readers on in this first book of her Secret Agents series, which was action-packed and had me reading quickly determined to discover what obstacles the hero and heroine would have to overcome to be together. Certainly, Avery is suspicious of everyone after all that she's been through and because if anyone discovers her secret than she could be in big trouble. Will Vincent learn the truth? However, it was the moment that the hero and heroine meet where this story gets very exciting, as no one is more determined to protect the heroine than Vincent. Will Avery let down her guard so the hero can help her?

As for the main characters, I loved them both immensely because of their back stories. Everything that's happened to the heroine while being married to a mafia boss has made her resilient, courageous and determined to do everything in her power to protect her sister. Will Avery be able to keep her sister safe? I also liked that Avery wasn't afraid to go into a dangerous situation knowing that she might not come out of it alive. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is that she took a chance on the hero. He's a good guy that would do anything to protect her, even though it's palpable that she doesn't need his protection by the mad skills that she has. While the hero, he's confident, strong and I liked how determined he was to win the heroine over because she can't continue to go at things alone, especially not with how dangerous things get for her. I also liked how protective Vincent was of Avery, despite the fact that she doesn't need protection, which is proven by something he witnesses when they face danger and has him wondering just what she's hiding. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is that he was willing to do whatever it takes to for Avery, even if it means going head-to-head with his boss.

Overall, Ms. Rafferty has delivered a wonderful read in this book where the dialogue entertained me from start to finish, as Avery provides quite the challenge for the hero; the chemistry between the hero and heroine was strong and had me liking these two together; and the ending had me worried for the main characters, but had me liking how things work out for Vincent and Audrey, especially after what the hero does and what it could mean for his job. However, it was the epilogue that I loved because it sets up the next story, which I'm looking forward to reading. I would recommend Caught by You by Kris Rafferty, if you romantic suspense, the opposites attract trope, or books by authors AJ Nuest, Laura Griffin, Katie Reus and Katie Ruggle.
